Trace an invalid member access
Complete a task or diagnose a specific problem.
1. First confirm parsing succeeds. Editor checks are lightweight and do not establish full expression-type safety.
2. Follow the scoped variable path one instance at a time. Each intermediate reference must be an instance and each requested field must exist in its global scope.
3. For an assignment failure, compare the stored field type with the assigned value type. For a missing local, inspect the current function frame rather than a previous invocation’s frame.
